Minnesota Sentinels Hockey

The Minnesota Sentinels stand proud as an all-veteran and still serving hockey team, an organization deeply committed to fostering camaraderie, building teamwork, and instilling a profound sense of belonging among military veterans and active-duty service members who share a common love for hockey. Our team represents a diverse tapestry of individuals hailing from various military backgrounds, including those who have overcome disabilities during their service.

Our mission is unwavering: to create an inclusive, supportive environment where veterans and service members, regardless of their prior hockey experience, can find a safe haven for physical activity and connect with their peers. We staunchly believe that every individual who has served our great nation should have the opportunity to revel in the camaraderie of playing hockey alongside their fellow veterans.

In November 2021, the Minnesota Sentinels were born out of a need for a more inclusive approach to military hockey. While many hockey programs for military personnel focus on rehabilitation and healing, they often impose stringent eligibility criteria, limiting access to only those with specific disabilities or injuries. Our team is founded on the principle of inclusivity, welcoming all military members without such restrictions.

Our core goal is to provide a platform for veterans to relish the sport of hockey while nurturing a supportive, close-knit community. We strive to ensure that every participant, regardless of the game's outcome, departs with a positive experience. Our team is tightly bonded, consisting of veterans who have served in a multitude of military campaigns, spanning from Desert Storm to the most recent conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq. We represent all branches of the military, with the exception of the U.S. Space Force.
