About the Minnesota Jets    

The Minnesota Jets is a nonprofit youth cheerleading organization based in Big Lake, MN, dedicated to empowering young athletes through the transformative power of cheerleading. Since our founding in 2022, we’ve grown from two teams to four, serving over 75 families from Central Minnesota communities, including Maple Lake, Annandale, Monticello, Buffalo, Big Lake, Elk River, Becker, Sauk Rapids, Waite Park, St. Cloud, Minneapolis, Forest Lake, and St. Michael.

Cheerleading is more than just a sport to us—it’s a gateway to building confidence, resilience, and character in our participants. At the Minnesota Jets, we foster an inclusive environment where youth ages 3-18 can develop essential life skills while building lifelong friendships. Our core values—Spirit, Accountability, Work Ethic, Safety, and Integrity (SAWSI)—are the foundation of everything we do. These values, coupled with our three pillars to success: Physical Health, Emotional Health, and Spiritual Health, guide our mission to inspire and empower every cheerleader who steps onto the mat.

Our Impact

Through our programs and partnerships, the Minnesota Jets have made a profound impact on youth and their families. From addressing issues such as homelessness, bullying, and mental health struggles to creating opportunities for families facing economic barriers, we are committed to making cheerleading accessible to all. 

• Over $25,000 in hardship scholarships are awarded annually, ensuring no child is left out from experiencing cheerleading due to financial barriers.
• Through our partnerships, we connect families to valuable resources for mental health support, academic success, physical health, and more! 
• Our cheerleaders have grown in confidence and leadership, overcoming personal challenges and becoming role models within their teams and communities.

Introducing The Hangar

In Fall 2024, the Minnesota Jets launched The Hangar, our first dedicated training facility in Big Lake, MN. The Hangar is more than just a gym—it’s a home for our athletes where they can train, bond, and thrive in a space designed for their success. Equipped with a full competition-size cheer floor, tumbling equipment, and additional amenities, The Hangar allows us to expand our programming to include camps, birthday parties, private lessons, and more.

This facility has brought new opportunities to our program, but it has also introduced new financial responsibilities. With expenses like facility costs, equipment upgrades, and increased scholarship requests, we’re asking for your support to ensure The Hangar becomes a sustainable resource for our athletes and community.
