Minnesota Budget Project

A nonprofit organization

Everyone deserves a Minnesota where children thrive; where we all have what we need to be safe, healthy, and financially secure; where we have clean air and water and all the things that create a high quality of life. But too many of our neighbors face barriers to living fully, in safe, just communities.

For more than 25 years, the Minnesota Budget Project has pursued tax, budget, and economic policy solutions aimed at everyday Minnesotans, ensuring our state’s opportunity and prosperity is truly available to all of us.

We've been a strong voice at the Capitol advocating for fair and equitable tax policies, like the nation-leading state Child Tax Credit passed by the Legislature in 2023. We also seek solutions to make health care and child care affordable for our neighbors. And we make the case for stronger wages and benefits so more working Minnesotans can support themselves and their families.

But we can't do it alone. Your support today invests in policy changes so that all Minnesotans can thrive, no matter who they are or where they live.
