At Farmamerica, Minnesota’s Agricultural Interpretive Center, you can explore, discover, and connect with the evolution of agriculture and its relationship to the world around you through unique, hands-on experiences. Less than 2% of Minnesotans grow food for 100% of us. We must intentionally share the impact farmers have on every Minnesotan's life.  

Farmamerica serves over 13,000 visitors annually and supports agricultural literacy, environmental awareness, and lifelong learning. With a mix of school-age field trips, tours through historic buildings, and fun-filled family events, Farmamerica's audience spans all generations.

Farmamerica was established by the Minnesota legislature in 1978 to preserve and promote the State’s agricultural heritage.  It is located on 360 acres in south-central Minnesota, the heart of the GreenSeam region, in the midst of some of this nation’s most productive farmland. 

In 2022, we opened the Ag Around You Discovery Center, thanks to donors like you! Through hands-on experiences and scavenger hunts, visitors discover the relevance of agriculture all around them, not just its historical significance. Last year we remodeled our prairie barn with flower identification signs and a mural of Minnesota's prairieland to celebrate our restored prairie as a significant part of Minnesota's agricultural history.
