Help send the next generation of family doctors to the 2025 American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) FUTURE conference, formerly named the National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students, to be held in Kansas City, Missouri (July 31-August 2, 2025).

We have a goal to raise $32,000 to send 40 Minnesota medical students to the 2025 AAFP FUTURE conference.

FUTURE provides students with...

• networking opportunities with family medicine residency programs, potential employers and peers from across the country.
• exposure to all family medicine has to offer, including information on different career paths.
• educational sessions.
• leadership development and advocacy.
• inspiration and motivation.
• community support.

It's an experience unlike any other for students interested in family medicine and has shown a direct correlation between those who attend and those who choose to go into the specialty. 

What is the financial cost for students to attend FUTURE?

• $800 = 1 student's full experience (registration + lodging + travel)
• $175 = 1 student's conference registration

Thanks to generous members and donors, the MAFP and MAFP Foundation have been helping to send students to the AAFP National Conference (now FUTURE) to nurture and develop interest in family medicine, increase the family medicine pipeline and grow the next generation of family medicine leaders for more than two decades.

• 572 = # of MN med students the MAFP has sent to the National Conference since 2003
• 359 = # of MN med students the MAFP has sent to the National Conference who have since graduated AND matched into family medicine
• 80% = Percent of graduates who matched into family medicine (and previously attended the National Conference with the MAFP)
