You can give the gift of justice! Justice for all is a right, not a privilege. Legal Aid is critical to ensuring that right. We provide free civil legal representation to Minnesotans who lack access to the justice system. Our work focuses on people with low incomes, seniors and people with disabilities.

You are the key to a stronger community. Sadly, our neighbors, marginalized because of skin color or their disability, are disproportionately taken advantage of. With your help, we’re able to make sure that people have a safe place to live – whether that is through preventing an eviction or ensuring that repairs are made. With your help, we’re able to help a family get stabilizing economic support to make it through a tough time. With your help, we make sure laws are followed. Minnesotans come together to help neighbors when times are tough. Together, we make our community stronger for everyone.

We fight for each of us and for all of us. Your support helps a neighbor in need, and also brings systemic change through our legislative policy work and class action litigation.

Coerced Debt Relief: Survivors of domestic violence now have a legal path to eliminate debt they did not willingly take on. More than 90% of domestic violence cases involve economic and financial abuse.

Universal School Meals: Laws banning lunch-shaming in 2014 and 2020 didn’t stop it, spurring LSAP and coalition partners to pursue free lunch for all. This is now the law and means students will be fed worry-free. In 2023-24, 800,000 students will benefit!

Choices and Empowerment for People with Disabilities: Our six-year federal class action lawsuit ensures that people with disabilities have the support they need to choose where to live.

Take a Stand. Support Legal Aid. Your gift is more important than ever. Every gift makes a difference.

We serve 20 counties in Minnesota from our offices in Minneapolis, St. Cloud and Willmar, and serve people with disabilities statewide.
