Who We Are:
Loring Collective is a queer creative nonprofit that formed in 2019 with a mission to empower queer creatives in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. We work hard to empower queer creatives in both musical and visual mediums.
Our Home - the Haus of Loring:
In August 2021, Loring Collective acquired the Haus of Loring through a Flexible Support Grant with the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council.
The ultimate goal of the Haus is to provide the queer creative community of Minneapolis and Saint Paul a safe space to experience and showcase their creative talents. To this day, we are proud to be able to provide this space for free to queer creatives thanks to a dedicated donor base.
What We’ve Accomplished:
Since opening the doors of the Haus of Loring to the community in 2021, the Haus of Loring has hosted several wildly successful events featuring countless queer creatives, including:
- two semi-virtual Loring Awards in 2022 and 2023
- one live Loring Awards show with a studio audience and livestream
- multiple intimate music performances the revival of the Mermaid Production’s Abortion Chronicles
- the world premiere of Loring Production’s queer play Artistic Tendencies
- a queer fashion show featuring local queer designers and models weekly Dungeons and Dragons sessions with local queer players
- 501c3 independence as of November 2023.
