An economic and cultural investment. When you support Latino-owned small businesses in the Twin Cities and throughout Minnesota, you will experience reward for yourself, your neighbors, and the broader small business community.
According to Stanford University, Latinos start businesses at a faster rate and create more jobs than their white counterparts. Studies also show that Latino business owners are more likely to provide their employees with benefits and growth opportunities like on-the job training.
Despite all this potential, Latinos face immense and inequitable challenges in gaining access to capital to start or grow a small business. When seeking financing, Latinos are more likely to be asked for collateral, like personal guarantees, than white entrepreneurs.
That’s why the Latino Economic Development Center, or LEDC, exists. We create economic opportunities for Latinos through a continuum of entrepreneurship and small business services. Whether it’s creating a business plan, applying for a business license, or preparing a loan package, we help more Latinos build wealth and bring diverse cultures to Minnesota through small businesses.
By making a 100% tax deductible donation to LEDC, you are ensuring more entrepreneurs and small business owners have the tools and resources they need to launch and grow successful businesses. Beyond this, you’re contributing directly to the rich cultural tapestry of Minnesota, which comes from our small businesses representing diverse cultures and offering culturally significant products.
