Lake Traverse Animal Rezcue

Animal overpopulation is a problem on the reservation.    We take three approaches to lessen the animal population:  The Lake Traverse Animal Rezcue removes abused, neglected and unwanted animals from the reservation and transfer the majority to our rescue partners for rehoming.  We also provide reduced cost spay, neuter and vaccination services for animals remaining on the reservation. We send a small amount of the cats from the reservation to the Twin Cities, where we adopt them out to great homes through a partnership with Chuck & Don's pet store in Shakopee, MN. 

Many of the animals we help arrive sick or injured.  We provide emergency vetting services to help these animals prior to sending them to other rescue groups for rehoming. 

Our income is through donations, fundraising and grants.  We are not funded by the tribe or the counties we serve. We are 100% Volunteer. Every donation to the Lake Traverse Animal Rezcue makes a difference!  Thanks for your support!
