Lake City Historical Society

We've taken the lead in restoring The Wave, the iconic sculpture that celebrates the spirit of the lake and water sports, and see that it gets returned to our waterfront. The first step is to have the sculpture assessed by a professional art conservator. Your 2024 contribution supports this assessment.

The Lake City Historical Society is an all-volunteer 501.c.3 non-profit organization. The mission of the Lake City Historical Society is the collection, preservation, display and dissemination of knowledge about the history of Lake City, Minnesota and its related areas. Lake City, Minnesota is in Dakota homeland, and within the historic Sioux Half-Breed Reserve at Lake Pepin. Lake City is the birthplace of water skiing.
