Lake Area Discovery Center

Lake Area Discovery Center (LADC) is a non-profit, Christian based early childhood experience for children ages 6 weeks to five years old

LADC is currently part of twelve Minnesota communities, with 18 locations in White Bear Lake, Mahtomedi, Stillwater, Forest Lake, Minneapolis, Eagan, Wayzata, Minnetonka, Maplewood, Savage, and Apple Valley. LADC's mission is to support parents and children through a creative environment that promotes and teaches Christian values, honors diversity, and fosters fellowship within the total community.

LADC strives to provide a safe and stimulating environment that nurtures each child's natural wonder. To create a setting that fosters the child's physical, social, emotional, cultural, spiritual, and intellectual development. Our lead preschool teachers are either four-year-degreed early childhood specialists or master's degree holders who foster a love of learning and model a positive attitude toward learning, helping children face future experiences with skill and confidence. LADC acknowledges the parent(s) as the first and most important teacher, and we support parents on their parenting journey.

LADC is proud to have earned NAEYC Accreditation, the mark of quality for early childhood education in 2009. All of the LADC locations eligible for NAECY Accreditation are Accredited and 4 Star Parent Aware.

This year, our goal is to purchase six new PLAYGROUND SHADE STRUCTURES to enhance our outdoor learning and play environments. These structures will protect children from harmful UV rays, create safe and comfortable play spaces, and extend meaningful time outdoors.
