Lafayette Charter School

LCS is a public K-8 charter school with a tuition-based program for 3-5 year olds. LCS's moto is Learning, Caring & Succeeding!

LCS began in 1999, when a group of concerned community members came together to ensure that their community would continue to have a school in their town.  

LCS is located in Lafayette, MN, in Nicollet County.  We serve students from the surrounding geographic areas, such as: New Ulm, Gibbon, Fairfax, Winthrop, Brownton and Courtland.  

Our school's mission is to: create a positive learning environment for general education enhanced with agricultural and technology concepts to benefit students, community and staff.  

Our cause is to educate today's students to be good stewards of the land and be educationally prepared to enter today's society.  By focusing on character education, our students learn the importance of being good citizens.  With our focus on agriculture, our students learn the importance of the rural community around them and how integral it is to everyday life.  Their technology education prepares them for the technological world they are surrounded by.
