La Crescent-Hokah Elementary School PTO

The "Let's Play Together Playground" is a community project organized and supported through the La Crescent-Hokah PTO.

The goal of the "Let's Play Together Playground" project is to provide a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for children to play, laugh, and learn together. Currently, on our playground there is one swing designed for a child with special needs. Two adults are needed to lift a child into and out of the swing. This is the only accessible piece of equipment. The Let's Play Together Playground will provide numerous opportunities for children of all abilities to play together on safe, engaging, inclusive equipment. 

The purpose of the project is to build a playground, which will offer an opportunity for all of the children in the community regardless of ability to play together. Directly, this project will greatly improve the safety and diversity of the play opportunities for the pre-k through 4th grade students at La Crescent-Hokah Elementary. The project has potential to serve and reach a much larger population by offering a new, high quality, well designed accessible playground for the community and region.

The La Crescent-Hokah PTO has been saving money from fundraisers for many years to pledge $50,000+ toward the project. The ISD 300 Community Education/ Discovery Preschool has committed $20,000. ISD 300 Public Schools have pledged $25,000. The Rotary Club of La Crescent has pledged $5,000 toward the project.  We are just $11,000 short of the total cost.  This playground will be built in August 2018.  We need your support to ensure we can complete the project in a way that will make the best possible play area for all of the kids!
