We are halfway to our goal and need your support to get us to the finish line!

For over 20 years, Kente Circle and Kente Circle Training Institute have promoted the personal growth and collective healing our communities need to thrive.

Your gift provides innovative offerings that encourage participants to go deeper to grow stronger such as:

  • Our two-day fall conference, where over 350 mental health providers and healers built connections while exploring racial and cultural impact on identity;
  • Training for over 100 mental health professionals seeking to become Approved Supervisors and free supervision for 30 mental health practitioners working toward licensure;
  • An intensive 12-week mentorship program where 18 Black and Brown boys built community and formed supportive relationships with community leaders who share their identities;
  • Consultation and training to address mental health in non-traditional ways through the Soul Care Collective, which provides barbers with the support they need to effectively care for their clients' mental health without burning out.
  • Retreats at our lodge in Hinkley, Minnesota, offering a space to gather, slow down, go inward, heal, and just be.

We are committed to ensuring our programming is financially accessible for everyone, especially for BIPOC and/or other historically marginalized identities. Your financial support helps make this possible.

"The fall conference was an invitation to pause and reconnect with my own essence, beyond the roles I play. In Hmong culture, the soul is central to well-being and spiritual traditions are woven into our identity. Yet, as the eldest daughter and a social worker, I've often overlooked my own soul care. As social workers, we're expected to be strong, but the KCTI conference reminded me that true strength comes from soul healing. The mindfulness techniques and collective energy helped me reconnect with myself, empowering me to serve others more fully and honor the parts of me that need care. The conference wasn't just a professional experience; it was a sacred space for soul healing, growth, and deeper connection."

- Sheng Vang, BSW, Fall Conference Attendee

As Kente Circle and Kente Circle Training Institute Founder Larry Tucker said in his Facing Race Award acceptance video (below),  "We don't change racism by somehow beating down this institutional door. It happens with individuals reclaiming their power, demanding what they want and what they need, and not waiting for someone to tell them what that looks like."
