Judy Garland Childrens Museum Inc

Welcome to the Judy Garland Museum & Children's Discovery Museum of Grand Rapids, Minnesota! We are one 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization executing two missions. Both Museums have been created for all ages and have something for everyone to enjoy! 

The Judy Garland Museum offers tours of Judy Garland's first home in her birthplace of Grand Rapids, Minnesota as well as an eclectic Garland/"Wizard of Oz" collection. Born Frances Ethel Gumm aka "Baby" Gumm, Judy Garland's 1920s childhood home has been restored to look and feel just as it did when the Gumm Family lived there years ago. We host thoughtfully curated exhibits and artifacts, including the original Carriage featured in the Emerald City scene from "The Wizard of Oz" (1939), a Dorothy Gale test dress worn by Judy Garland, and a Winkie Guard spear.

The Judy Garland Museum and childhood home engages people to explore the life and times of Judy Garland through learning about this legendary entertainer by her significant contributions to the performing arts in American and global history. 

Children's Discovery Museum aims to enrich the lives of children through sparking the joy of learning and discovery through the sciences, arts, and humanities.  

Children's Discovery Museum is a learning through play and open exploration space filled with fun, educational, hands-on activities kids love! We offer a wide variety of exhibits that stir imaginations and expand minds. There is a water table complete with locks and levees, Litezilla, Toddler Transportation Station, kid-sized town with a grocery store, pizza parlor, fire station, doctor's office, bakery, and pet store. Fish, camp, crawl, balance, and climb in Lake Life equipped with a fishing pier, yurt with slide, and a stage with dress-up costumes and music! 

Overall, The Judy Garland & Children’s Discovery Museum audience has a multi-generation of visitors due to our two museums concept. In the last few years, we have recorded attendance from all 50 states and 9 countries! We rely on support from our visitors and members so we can continue to host this incredible space in rural Northern Minnesota. We thank you for your generosity!
