 Making it Happen for Youth

The JK Movement is grassroots, youth-driven and healing-centered.  Providing safety and opportunity to dream,  young people (ages 13-24) are empowered as decision-makers and advocates for their own futures!   Located in the heart of the Rondo Community (St. Paul), the JKM serves more than 1400 young people annually.  

Lived experience mentors, navigators and trusted peer ambassadors partner with youth to turn their gifts and talents into tools for solution-making, change and impact.   

• Taylor 18, (a JKM participant since  13 years-old) replaced negative actions in school with JKM programs related to gaming, technology and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). This led to an interest in coding. Now enrolled at St. Paul College, Taylor creates tools, games, websites and robots. Taylor also has been employed every summer helping younger youth attending the Minnesota STEM camps. 
  

  Programs, services and activities are offered through 3 areas of service:  workforce and future readiness; self-empowerment and community service.  More than 1400 young people participate with JKM annually.
