Jefferson Theatre Company

Jefferson High School Theater Program, Bloomington, MN

Jefferson Theatre Company (JTC), Thomas Jefferson High School at 4001 W. 102nd Street, Bloomington, MN  55437.  

JTC is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes and welcomes students who design and build sets, who work with sound and lighting, who create and procure costumes, props and make-up, and, of course, who act.  All students are welcome to join for incredible experiences like lettering in theatre and attending cast parties that are more fun than prom. 

Our mission is to produce high quality theatrical performances for the benefit of students at Jefferson and the community, (including, but not limited to; musicals, dramas, seasonal celebrations, etc.).

• Provide for competitive theatrical plays and produce theatrical performances for events sponsored by the Minnesota State High School League. (including but not limited to; one act plays)

• Provide our students the opportunity to learn through performing many skills they can use in high school, college and the work place.

• Encourage interest in theater at the school district, within the city of Bloomington, MN and throughout the region.

• Provide Bloomington elementary students, through our children’s show, the opportunity to see and experience a top quality show free of charge.  We choose shows that are literary-based so teachers can incorporate them into their curriculum, and we provide a question and answer period after the performance as a learning experience.  As a community-building event, we encourage interaction between high school-age students and younger students before and after performances.
