Huntington’s disease (HD) is a fatal, neuro-degenerative, genetic disorder that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain causing the deterioration of physical and mental abilities. Children of a parent with HD have a 50/50 chance of inheriting the faulty gene. In 1967, the dynamic and determined Marjorie Guthrie launched an all-out assault on the disease that would claim her husband, music legend Woody Guthrie, and threatened their children. Her extraordinary efforts became a global voice and over 50 years later, HDSA is the premier nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of everyone affected by this cruel disease.

The Minnesota Chapter of HDSA dedicates their time and passion to supporting the families in our community affected by HD and to work towards resources, care, and hope. Up-to-date information on the Minnesota chapter is available on our website: https://minnesota.hdsa.org/
