Changing our world, one addict or alcoholic at a time

Rebuilding from the destruction of alcoholism,  other addictions, along with mental/behavioral  health challenges is the goal of clients who come to the House of Hope, Inc. for treatment.  HOH provides a safe environment for individuals who desire to rebuild their lives in recovery.

History

Founded in 1971, House of Hope, Inc. has developed into residential and nonresidential programs for addicted and mental health challenged men and women.   In 2001, the non-profit House of Hope, Inc. organization moved from two 100 - year-old houses to its present (residential) facility at 1429 3rd Ave, Mankato.  With this facility, HOH grew to serve 29 men at a time. HOH has become far more wholistic in its programming for clients: 2006, a 7 bed residential program for women opened; 2007, the LB Oasis opened providing a sober transition house for men moving into the community.  In addition, HOH has added a nonresidential treatment program and after care services, as well a JK GED support program.  The JK GED program cooperates with the local school districts.  This collaboration has resulted in more than 50 JK GED graduates, HOH clients, since the program began in 2007.  On January 3, 2012, HOH opened HOH III, a 26-bed facility in Fairmont, Minnesota.

UPDATE, 2022:  We closed our programs due to the pandemic.  We are currently open at the Men's Residential House on 3rd Avenue, at the LB Oasis transition house and in downtown Mankato for non-residential services.  We hope in the future to reopen the Women's House on Third Avenue, Mankato.  We have closed down the St. Peter and Waseca non-residential sites as well as the Fairmont residence.  The future is uncertain for those 3 sites.  Clients from all over southern Minnesota are welcome to come to the Mankato sites for care and treatment.
