HITP Hoops

Greetings!

Hard In The Paint Hoops (HITP Hoops) is a program that strives to build resilient minds through the game of basketball. Since 2015 this program has grown with minimal resources and with the aid of community this community can continue to help youth grow throughout the Twin Cities of Minnesota. 

From 2015 to 2020 HITP Hoops was only a summertime program. HITP Hoops has added different facets making it a year round operation. Training sessions have been added for youth with exceptional talent along with actual teams creating space for youth to compete outside of their surroundings.  

HITP Hoops focuses on working with athletes from the underserved communities within the Twin Cities network.  This program hopes to provides space for youth to work on themselves physically and mentally as they approach adulthood.

Basketball is a pathway to wellness for youth. This program will combine rigorous basketball training along with a focus on mental development. In addition, this program will provide food and lunch-time discussions on health and wellness topics that effect the everyday lives of participants. The connection between mental wellness and academic success is well-established. What differentiates this program is that it weaves it in with basketball to connect it to their lives. We believe that basketball can be healing.
