Hennepin County Bar Foundation

In 2016, the HCBF supported legal service organizations that made an impact in the lives of 13,000 Hennepin County residents.

Access to legal assistance regardless of race, income, ethnicity, language barriers or immigration status is a path to a better future. In 2016, the HCBF provided grants totaling $120,000 to 16 legal related nonprofits.  Examples of the impact of HCBF grants include:

(1)  Provides over 7,000 legal services annually to protect the basic human needs of people;
(2)  Provides first-time offenders an alternative to proceeding through the traditional court process. Upon completion of pretrial diversion program, clients avoid conviction or a lengthy court trial; and
(3)  Provides comprehensive legal services to over 300 homeless veterans in Hennepin County.

Since 1968, the HCBF has granted over $2.5 million which has made a positive impact on Hennepin County residents by funding legal projects that help change lives and create a richer community for all of us.
