In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre nurtures creative empowerment through the joy and magic of puppetry performance and education.

Thanks to people like you, we have enjoyed 50 successful years of programming, partnerships, and puppets!

Our programming and financial progress is growing. However, like many nonprofits, we are seeing dramatic declines in individual giving and ticket sales, putting the immediate future of HOBT at risk.

Your gift will ensure that we continue to bring the magic of Puppetry to our Community through Storytime, puppet making activities, Wandering Puppets and so much more! 

Curious about the impact of your gift?

$15 could provide materials for one puppet repair. Puppets are available to the public for free at our Puppet Library.

$50 could fund transportation to host a workshop in Greater Minnesota, bringing puppet arts to rural and geographically dispersed artists and community members across the state.

$100 is the cost of one Puppet Story Time session, free to participants at our Puppet Library.

$150 would support a Summer Camp scholarship for one participant!

$500 would provide support for one artist to participate in a Puppet Storytime cohort, a mentorship and community engagement opportunity that provides artists with the collaborative learning opportunities, supports knowledge-sharing across the puppet and mask arts and brings the joy of puppetry to the youngest puppeteers!

$1,500 would fund a 10-week afterschool puppet workshop residency at a local school with low or no arts funding.
