HOABCR is dedicated to helping Border Collies and herding breed mixes in need.  We often rescue dogs with  the most urgent needs and provide medical care, rehabilitation and training while  helping dogs learn to trust in loving foster homes.  HOABCR has built strong partnerships with other rescue organizations  throughout the Upper Mid-West and across the county.  We believe by working together we can accomplish more.  We are based in the Twin Cities and have foster homes throughout Minnesota and in Wisconsin. We have matched over 1,000 dogs with their families since 2016.

Heart of a Border Collie Rescue is an all volunteer organization.  Every dollar counts and every dollar goes directly to the care of dogs in our rescue.   We are proud to have earned a rare gold star rating with Guide Star.  A Gold Transparency designation indicates Heart of a Border Collie has provided the highest level of detailed information about our finances, leadership, and program activities. Heart of a Border Collie has a strong commitment to transparency with potential donors and is open and accountable about its operations
