Support Hartley Nature Center this Give to the Max Day and help create joyful, lasting connections to nature!

Magic happens every day at Hartley. Whether it’s the joy of a child catching their first fish, the connections formed over a mud pie with a friend, or the wonder on a face when they see how clouds are made, Hartley brings nature to life in unforgettable ways.

But the magic doesn’t stop with kids. Hartley also helps adults connect to nature through a variety of programs. This year, several people learned to mountain bike for the first time in our adult Intro to Mountain Biking class. For others, a connection was sparked while gliding on rental cross-country skis through the quiet winter snowfall, attending a panel of natural resource experts, or watching an environmental film at the Nature Center. These moments, big and small, all help foster a deeper connection to the natural world.

From little ones at Hartley Nature Preschool to over 6,000 kids from schools and groups across the region, to the 200,000 people exploring the trails on foot, bikes, or skis, your gift helps bring people of all ages closer to nature. Hartley is all about making nature fun, accessible, and inspiring for everyone.

Every donation helps keep these moments alive—please consider a gift today and help us keep the connection growing!

Your support benefits our entire community by:

  • Increasing environmental and scientific literacy, especially in children
  • Supporting hands-on education for children, adults, and seniors to increase the level of environmental awareness, appreciation, and understanding
  • Preserving and protecting 660 acre Hartley Park so it remains a community asset for generations to come
  • Breaking down financial barriers to participation in our programs by helping provide thousands of dollars in program scholarships every year.

Hartley Nature Center DOES NOT receive any regular public funds through taxes. We are a donor-supported 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is dependent on individual sources of funding, including program fees, memberships, foundation grants, and donations from individuals and businesses who believe in the importance of our mission.
