The mission of Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery is to end child abuse and neglect and create strong, healthy families.
Who do you turn to when you need a helping hand or someone to pick you up?
For 31 years, families in crisis have turned to the Crisis Nursery for support as they work through a crisis in their lives. With a mission to end child abuse and neglect and create strong, healthy families, the Crisis Nursery offers free, voluntary services to Hennepin County families in crisis with children ages newborn through six at risk of abuse or neglect. The Crisis Nursery’s programs include a 24-hour crisis line, crisis counseling, community referrals, parent education classes and support group, a 4th Day Home Visiting program, and overnight residential care for parents to place their children voluntarily for up to three nights while they address their crisis. In our 31 year history, the Crisis Nursery has helped over 58,000 children on their journey toward brighter futures.
Because families turn to the Crisis Nursery in the midst of a crisis, the Crisis Nursery is able to work with families to address their immediate needs as well as to build toward long-term self-sufficiency. In doing so the Crisis Nursery is able to help parents increase their ability to meet their child’s needs all the while decreasing the risk of child abuse and neglect.
Families turn to the Crisis Nursery and the Crisis Nursery is there for them. Now the Crisis Nursery turns to you. Please support this critical work with your generous financial support.
