Girls on the Run Utah

Who We Are

Girls on the Run Utah is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization designed to enhance the social, emotional and physical skills of 3rd-8th grade girls to help them successfully navigate life experiences. We envision a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. This year we served over 1,500 Utah girls at 120 teams throughout Utah. 

Girls on the Run is MORE Than a Running Program

During the 10-week spring or fall program, small teams meet twice a week at practice led by our trained volunteer coaches. Over the course of the program, girls learn to feel confident in who they are, recognize the importance of teamwork, build healthy relationships, and learn how they can positively shape the world by executing a community impact project with their team. 

Each season ends with a celebratory 5K event at Sugar House Park for girls, coaches, families and the community. Completing a 5K gives the girls a tangible sense of achievement as well as a framework for setting and achieving life goals. Our fun, interactive lessons celebrate the joy of movement and meet the unique needs of participants of all abilities and backgrounds. Regardless of race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, religion, gender identity or ability - we are here for her. 

Girls on the Run Utah is committed to never turning a girl away for inability to pay and provides free running shoes to any girl in need. With more than half of the girls we serve requiring financial assistance, the generosity and support of our community is at the heart of our organization.
