Friends of the Pelican Rapids Library

Our 501(c)(3) volunteer-driven organization supports and promotes our local Pelican Rapids Public Library, and we provide cultural programs for the community through the library. For example, we support the library through fundraising events: Once Upon A Time Tablescapes & Silent Auction, 31 years of Little Books sales that feature a local artist or writer each year, summer used book sales in the park, applications for grants and awards: First Place in 2023 Evy Nordley award.  We cooperate in providing cultural programs for the community such as visiting authors, artists, historians, and timely speakers. We welcome new babies into the community with our Baby Bundles filled with baby books, baby socks, toys, a library registration card, hand-knitted baby sweaters, and onesies promoting literacy. We also coordinate local art displays in the library. And we hold an appreciation night for donors and volunteers at our annual meeting. We publish a newsletter, The Window, twice a year.
