Gather people to explore the creative potential of glass.

Vision

A diverse community of dedicated makers, enthusiasts, seekers, and newcomers who feel welcomed and engaged at our center.

Established in 2009, Foci MCGA (Minnesota Center for Glass Arts) proudly represents a vibrant arts community as Minnesota’s only public access studio and education center. Our 501(c)(3) non-profit organization is located in Seward, Minneapolis and offers a full glass studio curriculum taught by artists locally and nationally recognized, as well as programming for youth, corporate group experiences, events, and exhibitions. Our goal is to be a safe space for all to feel welcome and engaged, creating experiences that motivate curiosity, build excitement, and advance mastery.

We offer training and facilities that support many glass disciplines including glassblowing, neon, flameworking, casting, stained glass, and fusing. We are open to the public 6 days a week. Stop in and watch hot glass in action, visit our Marketplace Gallery and Exhibition Space and get excited about glass sculpture!

In the past year, we’ve reached thousands.

  • Over 400 students participating in our workshops, from first time glass experience seekers to advanced curriculum classes and visiting artist workshops.
  • Studio rental by community artists of 4,000 hours.
  • Our Mobile Hot Shop had over 50,000 visitors at various fairs and events, including a return engagement at the Minnesota State Fair.
  • Offered over 35 scholarships to members of our BIPOC community and individuals with financial need.
  • Gallery sales program supporting artists and Foci MCGA.

To continue to support glass artists and students in the community and provide unique glass experiences for the curious, we keep our rates low. Your generous financial support will help to increase community outreach, grow our programming, and maintain our facility.
