Fairway Foundation

MISSION STATEMENT

The Fairway Foundation has touched over 5000 youth, mostly urban, over its 16 year existence.  Through programs focused on education & recreation, life skills, cultural enrichment, and mentoring we will continue our mission of Keeping Kids on Course.

HISTORY

The Fairway Foundation was founded in 1993 by members of the 3M Championship (formerly the Burnet Senior Classic), the Minnesota Golf Association and the Minnesota Section of the PGA. It was recognized that bringing golf to urban youth was a way to develop positive life skills and values.   In 2005, Saint Paul based Personal Enrichment Programs for African Americans (PEPAA) whose golf & scholarship program “Sponsor a Future Tiger” had a parallel mission and goals, joined forces to better serve those that would not otherwise be exposed to the great game of golf.  Together we are well position to continue our service to the Twin Cities under represented populations.  

OVERALL MISSION

To provide youth in the Twin Cities structured programs focused on education & recreation balance, cultural enrichment and life skills by instilling the values inherent in the game of golf: honesty, self-reliance, sportsmanship, and integrity.  We strive to Keep Kids on Course by providing experiences that enable our participants to make responsible decisions and produce strong, community leaders for the future.  We will achieve this mission via collaborative partnerships with community based & fraternal organizations, churches, and private/public organizations.  Through programs focused on education & recreation, life skills, cultural enrichment, and mentoring
