Give to the Max 2024
This Give to the Max Day we ask for your partnership to continue our active work in the community. With your support, we can reach our goal of $5000 and 30 individual donors whose investment will continue to provide innovative dance productions and outreach programs that benefit our community.

eMartin Dance creates productions that inspire audience discourse and empower community members. More than dancers, we are active citizens that use dance as a form of action to impact the world through performance and community outreach.

About eMartin Dance
Located in Mni Sota Makoce since 2019, eMartin Dance uses the universal language of dance to create community discourse through our work. Led by founder and Artistic Director, Erika Martin, we explore human experience and identity politics with innovative choreography that encourages audiences to engage social constructs in a new way.

Why support eMartin Dance this year?
We are a small yet active local arts organization dedicated to paying an equitable wage to the dance, music and production artists we work with. In 2024-2025 we are working to produce our first evening length show and expand the number of workshops we offer in the community.

Your generosity contributes directly to our creative projects and allows us to continue the important work we have started in our community. The majority of funds directly support artist salaries.

2025 Premiere in Minnepolis, MN
eMartin Dance will premiere Our newest work BLOOD OF THE EARTH in Minneapolis, MN next fall. We are excited to share our first evening length production with the MN community, exploring the textures and life of the Southern US experienced by the choreographer in childhood. This work invites the audience to consider land and body in reference to their own lived experience.

Community Outreach
Alongside our creative process, we look forward to expanding our Empowered Movement program in partnership with community organizations. Erika Martin developed this trauma informed dance program while working as a survivor advocate for Safe Horizon in Queens, NY and thrilled to finally share this program with MN. Our first local workshop was offered in 2023 in partnership with Women's Advocates of St. Paul.
