This November, we are raising $25,000 to fuel our 2025 programs that support the Ely community:

1. CinemaKidz After-School Program
2. Ely Film Festival
3. “Stories That Connect: Building Community Through Narrative” series
4. Storytelling Media Arts Workshops
5. Live Music Series
6. Open Mic Nights
7. Movie showings - including first-run, recently released, and repertoire films
8. And more!

Some examples of this year's program costs:

$5 After-school snack for a CinemaKidz student 

$15 Student ticket to Ely Film Festival's Indigenous Students Day program

$25 Art Supplies for a CinemaKidz student

$100 Part-Day Stipend for Instructor 

$150 Stipend presenting Minnesota filmmaker

$250 Free transportation (bussing) for students for one day

$350 Booking fees for one (1) independent film OR one (1) local musician

$650 Food for Ely Film Festival organizers during the festival weekend

$1000 Local technicians for live event productions (AKA Awesome Live Music shows!)

$5000 Stipends for local event coordinators

The mission of the nonprofit Ely’s Historic State Theater is to ignite imagination, foster connection, and celebrate the art of storytelling. Our vision is to cultivate a vibrant, healthy community by providing accessible and inclusive entertainment, educational experiences, and a welcoming gathering space for Ely and beyond.
