El Colegio High School

El Colegio High School is a public, tuition-free charter school located in south Minneapolis.  El Colegio is dedicated to creating the necessary learning environment that cultivates academic excellence to strengthen, recognize, and honor our students’ dignity, critical consciousness, multiple identities, original language, and bilingualism to become lifelong learners and authentic, powerful human beings.

Our vision is that our world will be transformed by recognizing the dignity and strengths of our diverse students and their families, and providing education rooted in our core values of Identity, Solidarity, Intellect, and Justice.

Our four Core Values:

Identity: We support our students and their families in recognizing and embracing their unique ancestral histories, cultures, and languages. 

Solidarity: We recognize that we all live in connection with each other; we must honor and support our youth to honor and embrace our communities.

Intellect: Success in life and community change requires critical thinking and a deeper level of consciousness.

Justice: We pursue our work not solely for the individual benefit of the youth and families we serve, but because we believe their role is critical in securing equity and opportunity for all members of society.
