Your gift to EFMN:

• Trains schools, businesses, public safety and health services, and community organizations across the state in seizure recognition and response.
• Provides Minnesotans directly impacted by epilepsy with no-cost epilepsy management education, supports access to healthcare and epilepsy management resources, and helps them navigate barriers to employment, education, and meeting their basic living needs.
• Builds networks of support through social programs so that no one is alone on their journey.

What does it mean to ensure no one journeys alone? Let’s look at 2024:

Shining Stars 

This program connects youth and teens with epilepsy from across Minnesota and encourages them to reach for the stars. All youth ages 17 and under are invited to become a Shining Star and join us with their family for special events throughout the year.

There are currently 402 children and youth enrolled in the Shining Stars program.  We hosted 175 attendees at our Annual Shining Stars Mall of America event.

United in Epilepsy Walks

Our annual walks raise awareness of seizures and support for our family, friends, and neighbors impacted by epilepsy. This year, our community raised over $178,000 in support with 1,608 walkers and 159 teams across six walk sites. 

“We attend as many of the EFMN social events as we can. Our children who do not have epilepsy (and our child who does) enjoy connecting with others and sharing our story! The social events make us feel “less alone” in our journey!”

Camp Programs

The Epilepsy Foundation’s Camp Programs provide safe, educational, and fun camping experiences for children and teens with epilepsy. With on-site medical staff and counselors trained in seizure first aid, campers and their parents can rest assured they will be safe and enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

To make sure a camp experience is accessible for youth of all abilities, we offer Camp Oz, Day Camp, and Family Camp that are designed to accommodate youth with different needs.

Your gift has helped EFMN provide 46% of our campers with financial support to attend our 2024 summer Camp Programs.
