Where else can you find YOU in a museum exhibit or a history book? If you or your family have lived in Edina, you will likely find information about your home, church, neighborhood, school or organization at the Edina History Museum. Researchers access our collections to find photos for a high school reunion, write a family history, learn when their home was built or simply remember what life was like when they were growing up. Our exhibits focus on people and places in Edina's history. Past displays include: histories of Morningside neighborhood, Edina's police and fire departments, Edina athletics, boom suburban growth, and streetcars. Our next exhibit (opening in 2010) will focus on the 150 years of Edina Public Schools. In addition to the museum, the Edina Historical Society operates a living history program at historic Cahill School (1864) and Minnehaha Grange Hall No. 398 (1879). Every year thousands of school children "travel back in time" to learn what life was like at the turn of the century. As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, we depend on the public for donations to offer our programs, staff our library, and preserve one-of-a-kind artifacts from Edina's past. Please help us continue our mission of collecting, preserving and telling the history of Edina. Where else will you find information about such topics as Wooddale School, Constable George Weber, the history of your Edina home or the gravel pits where you rode your bike when you were a kid? The Edina Historical Society tells YOUR story. Without public support, pieces of your past will be lost forever. Please support us with your donation today.
