Alliance For Greater Equity

OUR STORY

Alliance for Greater Equity was created when two similarly focused organizations came together. 

Cultural Diversity Network was hard at work for over 20 years in Owatonna with a goal of enriching the community's cultural understanding through educational opportunities.  This group hosted both Culturfest and Brewfest for many years instilling a long tradition of celebrating diversity.

Better Together came about more recently in 2019 in an effort to advance equity and build a cohesive community where unity, respect and dignity create a sense of belonging for everyone.

Together, we hope to continue our traditions as well as create new ones as we continue down the path toward advancing equity and building a cohesive community where unity, respect, and dignity create a sense of belonging for everyone.  

Donations will be used to support our Equity for the Future Scholarship.  This scholarship will support students from BIPOC community who are pursing a post-secondary education. In supporting these students, Alliance hopes to increase diversity among students entering post-secondary institutions and to promote equity in access to higher education.
