The Support From Give To The Max 2023 Changed a LOT for Crossroads Animal Shelter & Community Veterinary Clinic!

Give to the Max allowed us to invest in communications with you, our fellow animal lovers, in a way that actively conveys who we are, what we do, why we do it, and how we support our local community and outreach communities throughout Minnesota. 

This was accomplished through a new website, new approaches to telling our story, and updated images that reinforce who we are.

Crossroads Community Veterinary Clinic • 20+% Growth in One Year • We Provided Care for Over 3,000 Companion Animals!

Our non-profit, community veterinary clinic is open to all families seeking affordable, quality, and compassionate medical services for their beloved pets. It's our goal to keep pets healthy and where they belong - in the homes of people who love them – by providing the care they need at prices their owners can afford.

Our clinic offers spay and neuter services, vaccinations, ear or urinary tract infection treatment, relief from pesky allergies, wound care, blood work, diagnostics, and more. In mid-2024, we added a quick scan ultrasound and on-site chemistry to further serve the needs of our community. As we look to 2025, our goal for Crossroads Community Veterinary Clinic is to invest in a build-out to create more dedicated clinic space to meet the growing demand for our surgical and wellness services. We hope to add a veterinary doctor and multiple veterinary technicians.

Dedicated to the safety, care, and wellness of homeless and abandoned animals, Crossroads Animal Shelter provides shelter, food,  individual attention, and love to homeless, abandoned, abused, and neglected animals that come through our intake. Since our last GTMD in 2023, we have placed 681 deserving companion animals into loving homes through adoption. 97.2% of all animals placed are local from areas within Minnesota. In 2024, we added a dog training partner to support new families and a food partner to ensure good nutrition.

Crossroads Community Petshop • New & Gently Used Essential Pet Supplies at Affordable Prices

As we continue to look for ways to support the needs of our community, a new initiative is to launch a community petshop where we can offer new and gently used pet supplies to all families at affordable prices – Up to 50% off the average retail cost!

A very special dog came into our care due to significant injury while living in a domestic violence situation. 

Crossroads provided vital medical care and continued supportive care on his long road back to recovery.

  Little did we know how long the journey would be for ALL of us.

 For the next 1050 days, Crossroads continued to protect and provide a safe refuge for this abused dog we call, "Astro". 

 Ownership Disputes. Attorney Fees. Legal Battles. Court Proceedings. 

Some people said, "Preposterous! The time, expense, and stress of protecting this dog"!

For the team at Crossroads, it wasn't something "we were doing", it was simply, "who we are".

If we don't speak up for Astro, who will?

Astro is more than a dog that needed help – 3 years of long walks, playtime, love, and attention with him – to look into his eyes – this beautiful pup – Astro is our hope of a humane world for all companion animals where compassion and justice for him WIN.

It is with joy and relief, that we announce Crossroads was recently awarded custody of Astro!

We are excited to transition Astro into a loving, forever home.
