This year, Coffee House Press is welcoming you to look deeper into what it takes to get from an original manuscript to publication day! Your support is crucial in helping us produce and publish diverse, impactful books, and by donating, you're not just contributing to the creation of exceptional literature, you're also fostering a community of voices that inspire, challenge, and connect readers. 

Coffee House Press began as a small letterpress operation in 1972 and has grown into an internationally renowned nonprofit publisher of literary fiction, essay, poetry, and other work that doesn’t fit neatly into genre categories.

What would your donations go toward?

Donations from $1-$25

- A couple hours of typesetting which arranges all the words you see on the page.

- 1-15 printed final copies.

- 1-10 pages of proofreading to look for surface level errors as a final check.

Donations from $25-$50

- 1-2 hours of copyediting ensuring that text is free of grammatical and continuity errors and adheres to style guidelines set by the publisher. 

- 1-2 hours of poetry proofreading to ensure spacing and line breaks are as the author intended as a final check.

Donations from $50-$75

- 1 book copyrighted allowing Coffee House Press to legally own a title in order to print it.

- 1 font style for a book allowing permission to use a specific font within a book, usually per the author's request. 

Donations from $75-$100

- 1-2 hours of alterations when errors are caught during the proofreading stage; alterations are the solution to fixing them.

- Cover design work with artists and authors to create covers that complement each title. 

*Bonus: Any donations of $1,000 or more automatically enter you into Coffee House Press' "Publishers Circle", earning recognition in the back pages of newly published books and communication on upcoming events and new releases!
