We are a Minnesota-based nonprofit organization providing culturally and linguistically specific legal and victim advocacy services to adult and youth victims/survivors of:

  • human trafficking (sex and labor);
  • sexual assault / exploitation including campus rape and sexting;
  • domestic violence;
  • dating violence; and
  • stalking 

Civil Society, founded by Linda Miller in 1996, is a vital and unique link in the safety net of legal services for victims/survivors. All our comprehensive legal and victim advocacy services are free and address broad spectrum of legal issues victims/survivors encounter, including:

  • Orders For Protection (OFP) 
  • Harassment Restraining Orders (HRO)
  • family matters including divorce, child custody / visitation, child / spousal support, or paternity 
  • immigration (U-visa, T-visa, VAWA Self-Petition), educational, employment, consumer/finance, or housing matters
  • crime victim rights
