November is National Adoption Month—an important time of year to recognize adoptees, birth families, and adoptive families. We are dedicated to offering comprehensive resources and support for adoptees and adoptive families at every stage of the adoption journey: before, during, and after placement.
When you contribute to Children's Home on Give to the Max Day, you're helping to unite children with loving, nurturing families.
In our fiscal year 2023, there were 340 placements in safe, caring homes through our foster care and adoption programs.
Please donate now to help us carry out our vital mission all year long—you can make a gift on this site, or at chlss.org/donate. Your year-end gift to Children’s Home will be matched, dollar-for-dollar up to $50,000!
Thank you for your generosity!

Help Children Thrive
Your gift will unite children in Minnesota and around the world with loving families that will help them reach their full potential. Last year alone, Children’s Home helped with 219 foster placements and oversaw the adoptions of 121 children.
Strengthen Families
Your gift will give parents the vital education needed to create safe, nurturing homes for vulnerable children. It will provide post adoption support to all members of the adoption constellation—adoptees, birth families, and adoptive families—throughout their lifelong journey.
Remove Barriers
Your gift will provide adoptees and families with grants from our Adoption Support Fund. These grants ensure that the expense of adoption doesn't prevent a child from finding a loving home. Our grant program also ensure adoptees and birth parents are able to access vital post adoption services without financial barriers. Last year, 149 grants were provided to cover the cost of post adoption, adoption and support services.
Renew Hope
For older children, sibling groups, and children with special needs—children who often wait the longest to be adopted—your gift is the difference between languishing in an orphanage or foster care, and flourishing as beloved members of a family.
Founded in St. Paul in 1889, Children’s Home Society of Minnesota knows that a child in a safe, nurturing home is a child who thrives. Through domestic and international adoption programs, foster care, and post adoption services, Children’s Home works to give every child security, opportunity, and a loving family. We are proud to be an adoptee and BIPOC-led organization. Learn more at chlss.org.
