Responding to Law Enforcement requests when families have a loved one who is missing.

Every year, people don't arrive when expected, wander away from places known to them, or simply go where they shouldn't have.  When that happens, law enforcement calls in units like Central Lakes to assist them in finding the person who is missing.

CLSAR is an organization that provides K-9 teams that have been trained and 3rd party tested to help find missing people, including wilderness, disaster and water recovery searches.

We respond 24/7/365 across the state of Minnesota and the upper Midwest, bringing our K-9 partners, communication equipment, mapping and cartography tools so that when we arrive, we can be self-sustaining and not drain the requesting agency's resources.   All at no cost to those who need our help.

All of our members are volunteers who don't expect pay or reimbursement for the service they provide.  As one of our members said in an interview "We do this as a way to give back to our communities".

But this service isn't really free.  Members spend an average of $5,000.00 per year to maintain their K-9 partner; to train, test, and to respond to searches.  Everything from food and vet care to mileage and days off of work to respond to families in need.

Please consider helping our members provide this needed service!
