CapitolRiver Council

CapitolRiver Council, an official advisory group to the City Council, represents and works in partnership with all District 17 stakeholders to act on urban planning and community building efforts as part of a shared vision to support sustainable, safe, healthy, and vibrant neighborhoods. 

District 17 includes downtown Saint Paul and the Capitol complex. We engage all members of the District 17 community in discussions and develop recommendations for the City Council.  We discuss issues and concerns, identify potential solutions, and then work to reach consensus on and convey specific recommendations to elected officials.

CapitolRiver Council is a private, 501(c)3 non-profit organization, led by a board of directors comprised of 18 elected members and up to 9 appointed members.
