The Billingsley School of Music & Arts is a nonprofit providing access to the youth of Minneapolis.

BSOMA empowers youth in Minneapolis with a transformative, high quality, and urban music education experience that develops the behaviors and artistic skills needed for a successful life and artistic career.

1.) Every student should have access to a high quality arts education. 

2.) Every student is precious, cared for, valued, and loved. 

How The Arts Changed My Life

• My parents invested $15k in private piano lessons from ages 6-14. I made $60k as a child performer.  I have now accumulated over $500k worth of earnings from being a musician and educator. 
• It helped me become a high achiever with great work ethic, critical thinking skills and creative capacities that help me in every area of life. 
• I always had higher grades and better test scores than average because of my persistent involvement in the arts.
• It helped me develop good time management skills, self-expression, creativity, an open mind, critical thinking and listening skills. 
• It afforded me the opportunity to see the world and play music with the best artists in the world.
