Small Rescue ~ Big Hearts
B.A.R.K. is a small group of passionate animal lovers who believe that every animal deserves a permanent, loving home. We rescue, care for, and re-home animals in need no matter the age, breed, or health condition. We primarily rescue dogs but we also save cats, rabbits, birds, and even potbelly pigs if we have the foster homes available! The majority of our animals come from overcrowded shelters where they are in danger of being euthanized. Some of them come from unprepared owners that were not able to fulfill the commitment involved in having a pet. All of these deserving animals come into our hearts and homes until we can find a loving "forever home" for them. We do not place animals back into boarding or shelters after they've been saved. They live with our volunteers and their families - just like a family member should! After we rescue an animal, they receive quality veterinary care such as vaccinations, de-worming, and a spay/neuter, as well as treatment for any other medical issues that are found. Our foster homes carefully screen each adoptive home and we definitely have the best adopters around! The families who adopt a BARK dog are so special to us and often become like our extended family! We love seeing updates as the animal grows in a loving home!
Adoption fees do not cover the care and maintenance that goes into each animal, but they certainly help offset some of the cost. We rely on donations from the public to help us continue to rescue! These donations can be food, leashes, toys, Frontline or medicine, and much more. We are a 501(c)3 which means all donations are tax deductible.
