Anywaa Community in the Twin Cities Metro’s (ACITCM) mission is to support the integration, well-being, and independence of Anywaa community members in their communities so they live enriching lives. Let's unite together for a better life!

The Anywaa people are immigrants from South Sudan and Ethiopia who have formed community in the Metro Twin Cities. The members of the Anywaa community started arriving in the Twin Cities from both countries in 1990s. Most of them settled in the seven counties in the Greater Twin Cities Area. There have been a lot of challenges facing members of the ACITCM in term of access to resources, educational barriers, and access to other essential services.

ACITCM serves as an advocate on behalf of the Anywaa community and provides essential services to fill the existing services gaps. ACITCM was created to work collaboratively with other organizations, including government and nonprofits to serve this underserved community.

Your donation goes to help our members. Propel Nonprofits serves as 501c3 fiscal sponsor of ACITCM.

Our focus areas:

  • Connecting the community
  • Fostering relationship among the community members
  • Developing the youth to realize their dreams in their new country
  • Ensuring the community has access to resources
  • And developing after school programs to ensure the children get better education and contribute to the larger community

Thank you in advance for your interest ACITCM!
