Mission

The mission of Anoka County Community Action Program, Inc. is an innovative catalyst for empowering, lower income Anoka County residents to achieve their aspirations and dreams.

Programs

Our vision is one of a caring Anoka County community where basic needs are provided so that all residents can achieve and enjoy economic self-sufficiency. ACCAP includes a number of services and programs which include Head Start - Early Head Start, Child Care Support Services, Housing Services, Home Ownership, Energy Assistance, Crisis Assistance, Transportation Solutions, and Senior Programs. 

Senior Programs provides services to low-income adults 60 years of age and older. We have a number of programs which seniors may be referred to, most of which are free or provided on a sliding-fee scale rate. The Outreach program assists seniors by meeting them virtually or one-on-one with filling out forms, referrals, completing housing searches, advocacy, and more! Our Chores & More program provides housekeeping, lawn care, snow removal and handyman work to our seniors in Anoka County. It is also through donations and small grants that we provide financial assistance and project assistance for financial crises (housekeeping, snow removal, ramp installation, etc.). Our Kinship program is new to ACCAP in the last year and provides a number of services. We provide companionship through reassurance calls, and also through our one-on-one home or community visits. It is also through these visits that we fill one need with another need: respite for caregivers. We also provide medical and non-medical transportation throughout the community. All of our programs would not be as great as they are today if it weren't for the number of contracted workers and volunteers who have partnered with us over the years! We are also equally thankful for the generosity of our community and funders.
