AMPERS
Diverse Radio for Minnesota's Communities
The AMPERS stations are defunded but not defeated. Like other non-commercial broadcasters, the AMPERS stations lost all their federal funding effective 10/1/25. Collectively, the stations lost more than $3.5 million per year in federal funding. We need your help to keep community radio stations on the dial in Minnesota!
AMPERS is a network of 17 independent community radio stations in Minnesota. Each station is locally managed and programmed by and for the local communities they serve. Ampers is the largest network of community radio stations in the state of Minnesota and the largest of its kind in the United States. From Grand Marais, and Thief River Falls, to Mankato and Winona, and just about everywhere in between, we’ve got Minnesota covered. Our combined audience is about 250,000 devoted listeners. AMPERS has no affiliation with nor does it receive funding from Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) or Twin Cities Public Television (TPT).
AMPERS helps to generate revenue for its 17 member stations through corporate underwriting, sponsorships, grants and advocacy.
Member stations include:
KAXE (Grand Rapids)
