Alexandra House is working to end domestic and sexual violence. Your gift will significantly impact the lives of victims/survivors in crises who turn to us for safety, hope, and support. Your donation will help to provide safe shelter, food, basic needs, and the supportive services needed to heal, grow, and overcome barriers to self-sufficiency.

OUR MISSION: To empower victims of domestic and sexual violence, and inspire social change, through education, support, and advocacy.

OUR VISION: Alexandra House envisions a world where abuse and violence are unacceptable.

Alexandra House provides domestic, sexual, and relationship violence services to women, men, youth, and families. We are located in the cities of Blaine, Andover, and Anoka, but we serve victims/survivors of domestic, sexual, and relationship violence across Minnesota. All services are free of charge and include the following:

OUR SERVICES INCLUDE:

- 24-Hour Helpline

- 24-Hour Emergency Shelter (soon to be a pet-safe shelter)

- Support Groups

- Legal Advocacy and support

- Hospital Advocacy

- School support services

- Classroom and community presentations

- Housing and Supportive Services (including transitional housing)

- Elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation services

- Basic needs and food shelf

- A clothing and household goods donation center

We are the only comprehensive provider of domestic, sexual, and elder abuse services in Anoka County. For over 47 years, we have fostered partnerships with law enforcement, hospitals, schools, local governments, and businesses to change the conversation and misunderstandings about domestic, sexual, dating, and elder abuse. These relationships and our broader community are indispensable to our work.

COMING IN JANUARY 2025:

Alexandra House is thrilled to announce a significant milestone in our mission to support survivors of domestic, sexual, and relationship violence and their beloved pets. Alexandra House is creating a pet-friendly shelter in Anoka County, and we are honored to announce the name of our new addition: Linus’ Pet Haven. Linus’ Pet Haven will be a full-service pet refuge that can house six pets (cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, etc.) while their pet family seeks housing for themselves or other temporary care for pets. The primary focus of Linus’ Pet Haven is to ensure pets and their families maintain their bond and enhance healing for both humans and their pets, which is especially important for families that have endured trauma and violence.
