OUR MISSION: To create awareness and educational resources for the food allergy community to live well.

WHO WE ARE:  ALEIA Project was born from the combined experiences of 3 moms, who live near Duluth, Minnesota, that currently live a food allergy lifestyle. Combined, the founders of ALEIA Project have 30+ years of food allergy navigation experience and collectively avoid 10+ foods between 5 of their 8 kids.

WHO WE SERVE:  We support those impacted by food allergy that are primarily located in Northeastern Minnesota. We create educational resources and host and attend community events that are open to all, regardless of geographic location. Our educational programming and support group reaches individuals to fulfill the purpose of creating a unified and empowered food allergy community living freely and without fear, with safe opportunities for all.

OUR WORK: Our primary initiatives include: food allergy educational programs, classroom resources for the PreK-12 schools and support groups for individuals of all ages.

The work of ALEIA Project is focused specifically in these five areas:

ADVOCACY: to connect with fellow members of the food allergy community &  provide support.

LIFESTYLE:  create/provide opportunities to participate in activities without being limited by food.

EMPOWERMENT: connection to information for the FA community to navigate daily life with confidence

INCLUSION: giving everyone a seat at the table.

AWARENESS:  continually creating opportunities to share and raise awareness about food allergy

OUR IMPACT:  In 2022, we hosted and attended local community engagement events. Here’s a sample of what we accomplished:

Hosted Back to School with ALEIA Project Event

Attended 4 Community Outreach Events

Hosted an Allergy Friendly Trunk or Treat Station

Created Local Community Food Resource Survey

Nationally, on average 1 in 10 adults and 1 in 13 children are living with a food allergy.
