Travelers Assistance

Travelers Assistance is an essential function performed by Airport Foundation Volunteers who staff information desks and walk the terminals assisting travelers with directions, flight status, lost and found, transportation, hotels and tourist attractions. Travelers Assistance Volunteers also present the Animal Ambassador program throughout Terminals 1 and 2, providing comfortable, casual interactions with registered therapy animals, to help travelers feel at home while they travel. Volunteers may be assigned to Customs and Border Protection to welcome inbound travelers from around the globe, while assisting U.S. Customs personnel within the Federal Inspection Area.

The Airport Foundation MSP also offers personalized 1:1 assistance for travelers with special needs who require help getting around the airport or during a connection.

Arts & Culture

The mission of the Arts @MSP program is to enhance the image of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP), enrich the public’s experience and promote a sense of place through arts and culture. The commissioned artwork at MSP provides opportunities for the airport, artists and community to transform ordinary spaces into dynamic, meaningful places.

The scope, composition and longevity of these works help to promote MSP’s sense of place by providing:

• Thought-provoking and memorable experiences for airport users
• Landmarks that help people navigate and orient themselves in the airport
• Meaningful ways for people to experience our culture, environment and history
• A venue with international exposure for regional artists
• A sense of community pride

Commissioned Artwork at MSP includes nearly 50 works in the permanent collection that provide for the airport, artists and community to transform ordinary spaces into dynamic, meaningful  places as well as landmarks that help travelers to navigate the airport.

Rotating Exhibits are placed in a variety of choice airport locations. The exhibits focus attention on Minnesota’s diversity and feature different styles, themes and types of media and are made possible through the generosity of regional arts organizations and artists

Performing Arts are scheduled regularly in Terminals 1 and 2. Performers highlight the diversity of the Upper Midwest music scene with performances in various genres. Dance, theatrical, and spoken word performance are also presented for special events.

SEE18 Screening Room The SEE18 Film Screening Room is an in-airport theater experience featuring around-the-clock short films and award-winning documentaries by filmmakers from the Upper Midwest.

Events

Special Events such as the annual Airport Foundation MSP Golf Tournament bring together airport stakeholders, internal and external alike, to network and build relationships. Similarly, the annual State of the Airport event brings community and airport business leaders together with a common goal of supporting one of the largest economic drivers to the state and local economy, the Minneapolis/St Paul International Airport.
