GTMD24 Donor FAQs
When is Give to the Max 2024?
Early Giving for GTMD24 begins on November 1, 2024, at midnight. The campaign culminates with Give to the Max Day, which takes place for 24 hours on Thursday, November 21.
GTMD24 officially ends at 11:59:59 pm CST on November 21, 2024.
How do I donate during Give to the Max?
During Give to the Max and all year-round, you can make a donation on GiveMN.org to the causes of your choosing! Simply visit GiveMN.org, search for the nonprofit or school you want to support, and click “donate!” You can also go to GiveMN.org/search to view organizations by cause type, location, and more.
All donations made on GiveMN.org beginning November 1 through November 21 count toward Give to the Max Day totals and are eligible for prize grants.
How do I decide which organizations to support?
Where you give depends on what you feel most passionately about! There are tens of thousands of organizations on GiveMN.org doing good work in their communities. Here’s some ideas to get you started:
Visit GiveMN.org/search and filter causes by category.
- From animals, to faith-based organizations, to emergency relief and beyond, looking for causes by the type of work they do is an easy way to narrow down your search.
Filter causes by location.
- Want to give to an organization working in your local community? Visit GiveMN.org/search and select “location.” Then, you can view organizations in a specific area!
Support organizations that are led by Black, Indigenous, or people of color (BIPOC), primarily serve BIPOC communities, and/or primarily serve LGBTQ+ communities.
- Did you know that organizations led by BIPOC individuals still receive significantly less funding than their white counterparts and that LGBTQ+ serving organizations have fewer financial resources at their disposal? That’s why we offer specific filters to help amplify the work of nonprofits and schools that have identified themselves as in these categories.
May I cover the fee associated with my gift?
Yes! On average, 93% of donors add a little bit more to pay the processing fee associated with their gifts so that 100% of their donation goes to the organization they support.
The processing fee on GiveMN.org covers credit card processing fees assessed by financial institutions, and ensures GiveMN.org remains a free, private, and accessible digital platform for Minnesota nonprofits and schools year-round.
How do I access the receipts for my tax-deductible donations?
You can access your giving statements and donation receipts anytime by logging into your free GiveMN.org account! Not only will a receipt be emailed to you after every donation you make, but a printer-friendly version of your receipt is always available to you in your account. I want to give monthly to an organization. How do I do that?
Making a monthly donation to an organization is an excellent way to make a difference – thank you! When making your donation, you can simply select “monthly donation” instead of “one-time donation” to set up your recurring gift schedule. If you have questions about the impact of your gift or want to know more about the cause you’re supporting, we encourage you to reach out directly to the organization you donated to! You can find their contact information by searching for them on GiveMN.org, clicking their profile, and scrolling to the bottom of the page under “Organization Info.”
